Bone Augmentation

Unfortunately, not all patients have bones whose condition allows for inserting a tooth implant straightaway. (See implant traffic light system). This means that sometimes the condition of the bone has to be improved before the tooth implant or something similar can be inserted.

Many patients have heard it said that bone would have to be taken from the hip for this. However, thanks to new bone substitute materials, this is only necessary in very rare cases. This results in a significant reduction of discomfort.

In order to facilitate the healing process, I often use patients’ own growth factors, which were harvested in our own biotechnological lab. They are also very useful for the so-called “sinus lift”. This is often necessary in the upper jaw, if the maxillary sinuses are greatly expanded. Thanks to a special instrument set, nowadays this can be done very quickly and gently.
